4Great Dice, Despite Misleading Stock Photo.Sep 28, 2009
By J. Schott
When I first saw these dice on Amazon, I was drawn to the elaborate elven script, earthy-hue, and block numbering, as shown in the product image. However, upon careful investigation prompted by another user review, I did some research and found out that the current product photos do not accurately represent the item.

[...]

Attention to Detail:
The block numbering is no longer available on the "Elven" set, and can be found in the "Runic" set. Instead, a more stylized Elven number font is used.
The earthy yet transparent finish is now clearly transparent.

Bottom line: I love the dice. However, I would advise the seller to update the product images to reflect what buyers will actually be receiving.

1Hard to read and poor qualityJan 24, 2011
By J. Schuler
I got this set several months ago, looking for some unique dice to use with my gaming group. And, while the aesthetics are somewhat pleasing, it's at the cost of legibility. These are the most difficult dice to read I have ever come across. Not only does the black-on-transparent smoke color scheme make the shapes hard to discern, but the numbers themselves lead to confusion. The two has, on occasion, been mistaken for a seven.

But, the last straw with these dice came today, when the d4 rolled off the table, hit the floor, and lost a corner piece. I've had other dice for over a decade that have suffered more abuse with no wear. These can't even survive a few months of moderate play, and they cost an arm and a leg as far as gaming dice go.

If you're looking for dice, you can do better for cheaper elsewhere than Q-Workshop.

5Excellent dice.Jan 12, 2010

The dice worked perfectly. They are beautiful. They even impressed my role-playing friends. I'm very happy with this purchase.

2Would have been great if I got the right dice...Aug 03, 2009
By Adoamros
I ordered these dice figuring I'd get what is displayed in the picture. I got rune dice but not the ones pictured. Instead I got these: http://www.amazon.com/Q-Workshop-Polyhedral-7-Die-Set-Transparent/dp/B00191X4JI/ref=pd_sbs_t_5 except in black and transparent. The numbers on these are hard to see. If you are rolling them in dim lighting or on a darker surface then just forget it. Although rolling them on white paper helps. I'm kind of mad about not receiving the dice as pictured since the numbers on these are too curvy and hard to read. But I think I'm too lazy to send them back, so maybe I shouldn't complain.

5Very good D&D dice!Dec 20, 2011

I bought these dice, along with an elven dice bag, also from Q-Workshop, for my Dungeons and Dragons game. They worked perfectly, and matched both my dice bag and my character (half-elf.) I definitely recommend these dice for someone who wants more than plain, opaque dice.
