In this new edition, players mark pre-existing routes between cities for connection, and then vie against other players to purchase the power planets that you use to supply the power. However, as plants are purchased, newer and more efficient plants become available so you're effectively allowing others to access to superior equipment. Additionally, players must acquire the raw materials like coat, oil, garbage, or uranium to power the plants, making it a constant struggle to upgrade your plants for maximum efficiency. This family strategy board game is for 2 to 6 players and takes about two hours to play. | | | Features: | |

Power Grid really rocks!Oct 25, 2011

I love this game! Learning it was a bit of chore partly because the instructions are a little confusing. It took about an hour going over the instructions before it started to make sense. Once you know how to play, it's pretty easy to help someone else get started but learning from scratch using only the instructions is a little slow. Once you "get it", Power Grid is great game - very unusual and super for 4 people. I also tried 2 players - not nearly as good. So it's really a fun game once you're over the learning hump. It has some similarity to Settlers of Cantan.)

By D. Chau Powergrid basically an economics game. The player buys houses, connections, resources, and power grids to build and expand one's network in order to have the most houses and win. The game does also have an auction/bidding part to buy power plants that add to the excitement. Overall, it is a fun game to play and can be educational at the same time.
