The Marvel Legends line, if it were to be judged solely by this figure, is exactly as titled: the stuff of legends. Ultimate Iron Man here looks awesome. The metallic finish is classy and he definitely represents the Ultimate Iron Man from The Ultimates and Ultimate Iron Man comic books (both quality reads).

The figure articulates well and easily. Iron man's boots also make for a very stable base so he can pose and stand proud. Ultimately, this figure is awesome and worth top dollar. It will also stand up to children actually playing with it (or grown ups that haven't quite grown up enough). The helmet is removable to reveal an adult Tony Stark (beware of that small part). I highly recommend this figure to any fan of Ultimate Iron Man and Iron Man in general. He does come with the Annihilus Build-A-Figure torso, which appears to be well made and also quite articulate, but the rest of the choice of characters for this series could use a lot of improvement, so Annihilus will not be built by me. (X3 Beast? Come on. Have you seen that movie?) Given the quality apparent in this figure, I'll be keeping my eyes open for even more from the Marvel Legends line.

3Ultimately it's Iron ManApr 22, 2007

I guess Ultimate Iron Man would always beat regular Iron Man in a fight, right? I mean he's Ultimate. Just kidding. Anyway, this Iron Man is Tony Stark who designs weapons for the government and creates a suit of armor that grants him super-like powers. The Ultimate version of the character was designed to look a touch more real and bulky than the standard (616) Marvel universe. I'm sure over time it will get sleeker and sleeker. While not an Iron Man fan I do like this figure OK. There is good detail in the sculpt, he has a removable helmet and I do like the way the shiny metal parts look on his armor and his wrist mounted blasters are cool. He has a good range of articulation. The hands are the only area where articulation and sculpt are not that great. They went with a fingers half cupped pose with only a pin joint at the palm. Serviceable but not great. He comes with the amazing dismembered torso of Annihilus.

As far as the build a figure (BAF), Annihilus, goes he is an interesting mix. We've kind of been out of the whole extra big BAF's like Galactus and the Sentinel and others for a while now but the past BAF's have been just as good and are still really big guys meant to be in scale with the 6" Legends figures (not that Galactus really was in scale. Hey Hasbro, a big Celestial would be cool). I'd give Annihilus 4 stars overall. He has a really good sculpt with lots of detail and a great assortment of articulation points. He has extra big leathery wings, a menacingly alien face, clawed articulated hands and a pink (?) torso and gloves. Did I say pink? That's the only thing about this guy. For a real threatening Negative Zone alien also known as The Living Death That Walks, pink seems like a pretty feminine color. But maybe he's secure in his masculinity. In some areas he was shipped with an alternate purple color rather than the pink to man him up a bit but it's still pretty weird. Oh, well. Just be careful, if you are a perfectionist, that you don't mix up different colored parts.

5Iron Man Lives Again!Jan 24, 2009

This Iron Man is based off the ultimate universe. The colors are bright and shiny and his helmet comes off to show off Mr. Tony Stark's face. A great toy for comic fans.
