Great PrizeJul 06, 2011
By milkm23 These are great prizes for science fairs or any class related project. I gave them to the top three place finishers in the New York State Science Olympiad "Microbe Mission" event. Both the MS and HS division winners loved them equally with the HS kids possibly more so.
Cute, but still a strange giftMay 18, 2011

My friend got me three of these for my birthday (Herpes, Chlamydia, and Syphillis) as a joke. I got him the HIV Giant Microbe as a gift for his birthday. These toys are just larger version of the different types of microbes. They look pretty cute too. They have a tiny card attached which gives all the background information about the disease or virus. I guess it would be informative for classrooms and such, but I think it makes for an unusual gift as well. Most people have no idea what they are until they pick them up and look at the card attached.
Not so giant...Dec 13, 2010
By Andrea Everything about the microbe was as expected, except the size. It does say 4x4x4, but it just seems so small to be a giant microbe. The toy was no bigger than a softball. I have others in my lab, and they were all much bigger than this one. I guess I just expected more. Everything else about the microbe was fine though. It was even kind of cute for such a terrible virus.
Much smaller than I thought or was advertisedSep 18, 2010
By Thomas J. Schmidt III Well I thought it would be a "fun" little gag gift (the person I bought it for thought it was funny anyway) but I really did think it would be bigger. It is only 3" high, not the 5-7 indicated in the description. I actually didn't read the dimensions, so my fault there and it was an impulse buy anyway, but it is smaller than 5-7 inches. Otherwise it appears well made.
