Just for fun..May 23, 2010 I only purchased this item on a whim. Being allergic to Penicillin made this a fun idea. I imagine an actual child might have different ideas about it. I wouldn't purchase it for a teenager unless he/she expressed an interest in science, microbes and ect. For young children, around 8-13, I think something like this would be great for the imagination; a good way to introduce the concepts of life too small to see with the naked eye. As for its durability, with younger children I couldn't think it would last long under high strain play. A dog would have it apart in less than 1 minute, too, so it should stay away from pets. I'm glad I bought it, though I imagined it was bigger. Overall, as an adult, I like the idea of giant plush microbes. They are fun and would be useful for teachers. I won't be collecting them all, but I'll defiantly enjoy this one!
Gift for Daughter-in-lawDec 17, 2009 I saw this and thought of my daughter-in-law. She keeps a very clean house and yet somebody in the family always seems sick. I got this for her as an annual Christmas tradition. My sons and their significant others get a toy at Christmas.
Looks very cute and I'm going to tell her that everyone needs a little penicillin now and again.
I love these microbes!Dec 12, 2008 These plush microbes are the best. Not only are they a great collector's item for people who love science, but as a science teacher, I use them as visual aids.

plush penicillinAug 30, 2008 My son really loves to play with these microbes. He chose antibiotics and white blood cell as well as bacteria and has battles between the good and the bad microbes!
