Great cards from 1994Jan 30, 2009
By John H. Lockhart III
"sodamania"
In a more innocent era, she was called "The Coca-Cola Girl." She represented the latest in fashion and good taste. Women admired her while men envisioned taking her home to meet mother. She was featured on calendars, trays, postcards, bookmarks, signs and numerous other advertising pieces during the Gay Nineties and the first decades of the 20th Century.
This item is a special collection of early Coca-Cola advertising art that was reproduced on unique embossed metal collector cards. The artwork was taken from the Coca-Cola archives and each card features an elegant woman on the front side. The back side provides historical information pertaining to the front image. The set was made in 1994.
The set is a "limited print" collection that consists of 20 cards printed in four colors on metal for maximum durability. It is contained inside a custom designed collector's tin.** (**The "tin" can is actually made of sheet steel with rolled & crimped bottom and lid edges. It was electroplated to resist rust and painted with baked enamel.) The entire can is sealed with original factory shrink wrap plastic. The can is 7-1/8" long by 4-1/8" wide by 4-5/8" high.
This collectors set was made in the USA by Metal Impressions, LLC and marketed by Collect-A-Card Corp. Copyrights & Trademarks; 1994, The Coca-Cola Company
