By Thomas Adams I've used Chessex mats for years, and this one is by far, the absolute best. In most cases, you can draw out an entire level of even a large dungeon. It's so large, no picture can do it justice. I have two banquet tables placed side by side, and its larger than those, lengthwise at least, and covers both tables width wise.
If we get the the end of the mat, I just scroll the end we're not using off the end and keep drawing.
Have a HUGE battle in mind? No problem. This thing is just the ticket.
Quality: I have never had a complaint with any Chessex mat, ever. I have never had one wear out on me. Never had one show up with any noticeable blemish or error that I could see.
Versatility: The problem with other systems is that no matter how much you buy, you still end up with very similar (boring) repetition. With the battle mat, you have one item (plus pens) and the imagination of you and the players. No trying to find out what tile you need, etc.
Just draw and go. Just like the old days of pen-and-paper.
If you're old school D&D like me, this is for you. Its worth EVERY penny.
