Excellent design, poor constructionFeb 02, 2011

I'm an adult and I purchased this strictly as a collectible item. The Cylon LOOKS amazing, when you move the limbs you can even see the pistons actually expand and contract, it is a very faithful reproduction of the onscreen Cylon. I grew up in the 70's and 80's and most toys of that era looked nothing like the characters they were supposed to represent. So to see this perfect detailing was breathtaking. But the darn thing broke just from trying to pose it on the desk! First the left arm came off and I saw that it could be snapped back into place, but this was just because it broke that way, it wasn't a design perk. Then the RIGHT arm broke! That one didn't snap back on and now the figure is in my drawer till I get around to rejoining the limb somehow. I don't know what feldercarb they made this from but it's far too brittle. I'm not sure I ever reviewed a toy on amazon before but if I did it has been years and this thing made me annoyed enough to post this.

Can I rate it LESS than one star?Jul 25, 2011

This is the first time I've hated anything enough to write a review of it. Looks amazing in the packaging but if you plan on taking it out, don't waste your money. The first arm broke off while I was taking it out of the packaging and the other arm broke off two days later. Whatever the shoulder joints are made of is very brittle. I tried using crazy glue to repair it because crazy glue bonds everything. Wood, metal, leather, your fingers to the tube... everything except this plastic that is. My biggest regret is that I bought 3 other variations as well. They weren't even worth the three bucks apiece that I paid for them on clearance.
Arm brokeJan 25, 2012
By Le Grand Fromage The arm fell off after removing it from the package. It's not broken, it just doesn't seem like the joint connects properly. I stuck it back on, and I've managed to pose it with the gun, but it will come back off very easily. I have the gold cylon commander figure, which didn't have this problem.
Despite that, it's still a cool figure. Very well designed. Just buy it with the knowledge that it will probably fall apart if you're not extremely gentle with it.
Also, a note: the picture here is for the Guardian Cylon, while the actual product is the Cylon Warrior.
